We decided that the new version of FMT.com ought to have a blog, so here it is. If you know what a blog is — i.e., a Web log — you'll recognize why we made this choice: we want the site to be lively and current, we want it to have some personality, as well as some accountability.
We want readers to feel as though they are involved here, in the same way they are involved in their work, at a seminar or conference, or at a trade show or other event … another venue for metalcasting industry communication and socializing.
This blog will be about metalcasting, specifically; manufacturing, generally; current events, occasionally; and humanity, incidentally.
That probably seems like a self-congratulatory statement, but it's not meant to be so. I mean that this blog, and this site, will try to coordinate all the issues that are shaping the metalcasting industry — always trying to elevate the fact that "the industry" is a collection of men and women with ideas, values, hopes, and rights.
